Fresh Soda anyone?

HI!! Well, I bought a soda maker today. Yep, you read right. Hehe..I used my team member discount to my advantage. I made diet cola. It was really good. I guess I'm a soda jerk now! I also might be getting my dad's 'brick'. Ok, it's not really a brick, it's a first generation iPod. You know, the iPod so huge that if you threw it, it would break a window. it has 15 GB of memory. Oh boy oh boy oh boy!! All the music I could put on that!! Threason I might be getting it, is because my mother doesn't have a music player at all, so it would be nice if she had one as well as dad and I.

Did I say that I might be going to the mall in full drag? HAHA!! I bet you think I'm joking. I'm not. I have the wig, clothes, and the walk and talk. All I need now, is the makeup. BTW,  I will be a drag king, NOT queen. Cause I'm female. My cousin and bunny will be joining me as well. we are going to have soooo much fun. Now if onlyI could get my adopted brothers to join in.....*HINT HINT*.

I have finally decided to re-enter the dating world after some much needed thinking and improving upon myself. Looking back, I see just how much I was lying to myself. I used to be a mean, vindictive, and really unpleasant person. Now, I'm nice, sometimes sarcastic, thoughtful, and kinda shy. Yeah, it shocked me too. I never thought of myself as being shy, but people change. 

I also discovered that I have a phobia of sorts. Tall. Buildings.  I loath them. They make me nervous, and upet and sick feeling. It's not the building itself that scares me, it's the sheer size and height and the fact that they're so close together makes me feel suffocated and cut-off.

well, enough about me. I'm going to go beg for the brick, knit some more, and enjoy my day off tomorrow.

My New Job

alright, so i finally have a job. yay!!! i work in meijer at the deli. i slice meat and cheese and i serve up the different salads. I'm sorry it's ben so long that I haven't  been on here in a while. my life has been too hectic for this. I'm going to find the time for this more often though, cause I am seriously considering opening a real "The Mad Hatter Knit Shop".

That's my dream. To open a store. Well, maybe it's farfetched, but I'm still quite young, so I have time. I'm looking into doing art fairs, having a booth at a flea market, and maybe even being a featured artist in a consignment shop. Now that would be awesome. You get ten percent of the sales price every time you sell something. so that would be another way of making some much needed money.

I kknow, here I go again about money. Well, when you have no family wealth, or inheritance, you have to start working early and come up with a game plan early also. As always, we're on facebook, and will soon be getting a twitter feed and pintrest account. WWe're working hard here trying to get the name out.

Well, I have some good news. Bunny will now be blogging on this blog too. Look for her! We will try to put up company pictures so you an all meet the staff, but I can't guarantee that will happen anytime soon. weel little hatters, I'm off to work!

my first job

hi everyone! i finally have a job! yeah, ur little mad hatter is growing up. i got this job at meijer. i will be hearing from them any day now to get my schedule. i heard that a certain someone is back in town for the summer. ahem. pokematic *cough* i'm sorry, was that out loud? hehe. well, the knitting business has been good to me. i havent sold anything yet on account of my store being down for monthly maintenence. that and i can't find my camra anywhere, so it's not like a can upload any pics right now even if i wanted to. and no, my room is not the disaster area it usually is either. it's actually clean.  for once. well, my cousin's confirmation was yesterday. talk about a fun party. i played just dance gaist several people and beat them. i lost to my cuz justin. and i dueled justin in guitar hero through the fire and the flames. on hard. i won that round. however after that, i lost miserably. oh well, win some lose some. now that i will be making money finally, i will be able to buy the quality wool yarn my heart has been set on. oh wool, why do u elude me so? that and i can but a scarf loom finally. i normally dont cheat when it comes to making things for my store, but lately, i have been getting a lot of requests for scarves for my family, so a loom akes things go much quicker.

a day in the life of a hatter

well, i know some people think that being a hatter sounds pretty glamorous, trust me, it isnt all that it's cracked up to be. my mom left for work for three months in the virgin islands, so i pretty much am a housewife., homebody, or my least favorite, lazy woman who blogs and knits. my day starts with me wakingbup and taking a shower. then i go eat breakfast. i wait until my dad leaves to do a quick cleanup of the house and then i turn on the tvyhe hhhht and knit. i know, oh so interesting, right? after im done with knitting for an hour or two, i ride my bike, then take my dog for a walk. then i have a late lunch. i may do some errands if im lucky enough to go to my grandparent's house. then after that, i read a little, listen to music and blog. seriously, my life is pretty much sitting and waiting. then, i cook dinner, knit some more and then read for a lil bit and go to bed. at least tomorrow i get a break from thenmonotony and will have my old friend dave over. we go way back to elementary school and the first two years of high school. to him, i was one of the guys. you know, wrestling, roughhousing, and getbdirty then try to walk into the house kind of guys. its probably gonna shock him that im grown up and a female. well, to be honest, that sort of thing never mattered to me. so, he'll be shocked that im a stay at home and then, knowing dave he'll suggest we hang out more often. oh well. to tell you the truth, i dnt really wanna hang out with him. its been too long and we have griwn into two totally different people. but oh well. i already said yes. he doesnt kniw that, so im gonna keep that on the downlow as best as possible. but how comfy can you getbwith the person who has seen you in some of ur less than amazing moments and knows things about you that you would rather he forget? oh well.

hairpin lace..AHHHH!!! TAKE IT AWAY!!

i have been listening to marilyn manson lately and the above title where i'm screaming take it away, fits my frustration. i know how to crochet, i'm just not all that good at it. i tried making hairpin lace and boy, that went so worng it was funny to watch. i tried to do it, cause i know how to singe and double crochet, but my lack os skill won out, so i am definitely going to be sticking to the knitting from now on.

new scarf pattern

hi everyone. if you've been following on facebook, then you should've seen that i'm working on a new beret set for the ladies. off the record, i'm also kniting for my bff's wedding. it's a long tradition in my family to give someone you care about a handmade blanket. yep, i'm knitting an afghan. yay! it's quite pretty to look at is very warm which is great for these cold nights here up in the north. anyways, i know promised a scarf pattern, so here it is:
size 8 knitting needles
cast on 50 sts.
row1: knit all sts.
row2: purl all sts.
repeat until desired length.

it's that easy! the pattern will look like you braided the entire thing. if it doesn'tcome out the way you want it to, don't gt discouraged, just keep swimming. lol finding nemo joke i love dory. anyways, my life is going great right now. i'm a self made business lady who keeps knitting like crazy and when i'm not knitting, i'm job hunting.  even though the mad hatter is my baby, i need a steady income. so, wish me luck. i hope to get this last job i interviewed for.
i can't wait. my first job! yeah...almost 20 and i'm getting my first job..scary, huh? as for school, i cnt go til september thanks to fafsa. yay....anyways, don't give up on the pattern. you'll get it right.

New stuff

ok everybody! i've fixed the bugs on the mad hatter site and now you can actually order the product! yay! o now that i'm an official businesswoman i need to get cracking on making new products and expand on the one i already have. as you know, everything at the mad hatter is handmade and never made by machine. so i'd like to introduce to you our newest teammember, bunny! she is my bff and is a busy bee. she makes bracelets, necklaces and many other things. although i am the original founder of the mad hatter, i depend on her and many others to keep it running. my phone is literally ringing off the hook. i am knitting like a madwoman these days! so...i need some ideas..what do you think, fish scale scarf or candle flame shawl?? please give me some feedback, i need it desperately.
